Hi all I am wanting to get some peat into some of my tanks as I am going to be getting into softer water fish. I only use undergravel filters and sponge filters now so does anyone know how I can add peat to my tanks, where I can find it and any help in this area would be most welcome. Thanks all.

You could always use my well water! LOL It comes out of the tap so soft even java moss has a hard time living in it! But I think you can get it on AquaBid. As for how to use it I believe you can put it in a air opperated old type box filter or use a filter bag & bury it under the gravel. Ken may have a better Idea and a seller for you Dawn
Thanks Dawn, I had been asking around about this all day yesterday and I got the same reply from a guy who raises killies. I have some of those box filters and use some of them in tanks with baby crays and shrimp. I donno why I didn't think of it sooner. I did find a guy on ebay that sells organic peat moss so I am going to be getting some from him. I will buy some more of those corner box filters at pet supermarket. They are .89 or .98 cents each. I am stoked. New tanks up and new fish woo hoo.
